Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) which was founded in 1973 has an amazing opportunity for the above position in the non-profit sector. Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits & compensation administration, departmental development, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), employee relations, training and development, organizational development, and employment. This position reports to the Director of HR. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees and point person to employees & insurance brokers/carriers for any inquiries/solutions.

Perform maintenance of the Electronic Timecard System (ETS) and point person to employees & vendor(s) for any inquiries/solutions.

Assist the Director of HR with planning and implementation of the following department-wide efforts: organizational and space planning; performance management and improvement systems; organization development; policy development and documentation; maintenance and update of employee handbook; recruiting and staffing logistics; employee relations and company-wide committee facilitation.

Assists the Director of HR in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.

Participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems. 

Maintain human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.

Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining professional networks; participating in professional organizations such as local and regional HR associations.

Complete special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; ensuring project implementation; and summarizing & presenting project deliverables.

Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Support with print and electronic posting of company employee communication and coordination of agency-wide events.

Participate in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars. 

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but may serve as a coach/ mentor to the Human Resources Coordinator and Human Resources Assistant.

A bachelor's degree and three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resources experience, OR  a  Master's degree in Human Resources Management.

2-4 years of experience in Human Resources.

Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration.

Strong diplomatic, problem solving & analysis, meeting facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information effectively and maintain confidentiality.

Ability to build trust with fellow employees and managers.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively, multi-task, meet deadlines and project management skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Experience with applicant tracking system/HRIS.

Excellent grasp of technology and computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
